In celebration for Earth Day, your friends at Simple are stoked to be partnering for the 5th Kokua Festival in Oahu Hawaii. Hosted and headlined by Jack Johnson, the festival supports the Kokua Hawaii Foundation who does some incredible work bringing green education and organic farming to the schools in Hawaii. There is a really impressive lineup this year! Out of all of concerts on my list, I have yet to have seen a Dave and Tim show (but Rachel has!). The Kokua Festival is a leading example of how concerts can actively reduce their footprint. That means no water bottles (bring your own container, is it really such a hassle?), no plastics, and almost zero waste. There will also be a showcase of other eco-friendly vendors, advocacy groups like the Defend Oahu Coalition, and of course some sweet rock 'n roll. We are flattered to be invited to be apart of this great event, and as a shoe company we are committed to make the essence of Kokua year round as well. If you happen to be at the festival, swing by and say hello to Chris or myself at our booth.
Ah warm and fuzzy.
What are you doing for Earth Day? You can sign up for Jack's new eco-social network All at Once and be connected and informed with others who share you concerns about the environment.
